Mentor/Sponsor of the Year Award

Christine is a Lawyer & Compliance Manager working at HSBC. In her career, she has worked in USA, South Africa, Kenya and UK. In Johannesburg Christine was a mentor with the Sizanani mentoring program for girls, and in UK she Co-chairs the Europe Region Compliance Network and sits in the HSBC EMBRACE – BAME network steering committee as its Community Engagement Lead. As Community Engagement Lead at EMBRACE, Christine has led over 300 BAME and non BAME members of staff into getting involved in various types of community service initiatives around the UK. Christine is HSBC’s lead at the Department of Works DWP, leading staff into Mentoring Circles – the government initiative to bridge the unemployment gap between races. In 2018, over 50 staff members volunteered at two thirds of UK Job centres impacting over 100 youth, connecting mentees with senior HSBC executives and HR. She is a 2019 winner of The Rising Star Award.
