Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) are vital elements to achieve this. Our patients, their families and carers have the right to be treated fairly and be involved in decisions about treatment and care, without being discriminated against on any grounds. Our staff have the right to be treated fairly in all aspects of their work, from their recruitment, career progression and during interactions with each other. They can expect to work in an environment where diversity is valued, equality of opportunity is promoted and where there are strong anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practices. My personal commitment remains clear – to create a workplace where people feel they belong to the organisation without having to compromise their sense of identity, without having to experience discrimination, and with having an equal opportunity to develop and to feel included and valued for the diversity individuals bring to AWP.”
